Osteoporosis is a serious issue, affecting 1 in 5 women and 1 in 20 men over the age of 50. The diagnosis often starts with a DEXA scan, then evaluating other risk factors. But there’s a big challenge: 90% of these scans contain at least one error, and in 45% of cases, the mistakes are significant enough to change treatment decisions. These errors can lead to fractures, pain, disability, and in severe cases, even death.
Instead of waiting for things to reach a critical point, there are steps one can take now to protect their bone health. In this interactive workshop, participants learn practical ways to improve bone quality and resistance to injury. We’ll cover simple but effective nutritional change, avoidance behaviors, and exercise to live a fuller, more active life.

In this 5 hour workshop-style, interactive seminar, participants learn the basics of the life of their bones. We start with Bone Building and Bone Reabsorption.
We move into what nutrients are needed for bone building. Calcium sources, D3, and other vitamins and minerals important in bone are discussed. We talk about Bone Quality vs. Bone Quantity and how to increase both.
We discuss Collagen, and which types are needed for the spine, and the hip, etc. Dr Jen's Bone Health Tea is explained, demonstration given. Tastes are available depending on the location.
Protein and its role in bone health is discussed. We share which sources that are easiest to digest, and safest for our kidneys. The amount of protein is always important, as it's often underestimated. Protein powders and shakes incorporating Vitamins and minerals are covered.
Medications are covered, effects, side effects, and contraindications. The extensive labs required to take the meds are taught.
Gizmos, Gadgets and programs that are effective, ineffective, safe and possibly unsafe are shared. Exercises, which are safe and suggested to build bone strength and flexibility are covered before a question and answer portion.
